AVENGERS:
Avengers ("The Pink Album"). U.S. CD Presents. Limited repressing of the Frisco punk legends debut LP from 1983. From June of 1977 to June of 1979, The Avengers played just over 100 shows, appearing with the Sex Pistols at Winterland, that group's legendary last show, recording with Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and headlining dates with the X, the Go-Go's, and the Dead Kennedys. During their brief existence they released one 3-song 7-inch EP on Dangerhouse Records. A few months after they broke up the 4-song 12-inch EP came out on White Noise. In 1983 band members gathered together various recordings and put out a full length self-titled LP (the pink album).

CHIMNEY SWEEPS:
Devil Girl (Crude and Unissued Australian Garage 1966-67). U.S. Norton Records. 12 tracks. For the first time on wax, here's a dozen crude, unissued 1966-67 garage recordings by Australia's answer to the Alarm Clocks, the truly remarkable Chimney Sweeps. These guys never boasted a release during their short "career" (they played maybe 15 gigs tops) and were totally unknown even amongst top Australian collectors until recently. The twelve sides include wild originals like Lies, Lies and the demented Cold Fish ("she ain't no gold fish!") plus three cool covers — their dragged-through-a-ditch take on the Rolling Stones' "Grown Up Wrong" must be heard to be believed! The big crunch is capped by a '66 stab at the title song by the Sweeps' earlier incarnation, the Cobwebs. Features a full band bio, whacked out group photo (the only one!) and a buzzin' dozen garage killers! $10

CREATURES OF THE GOLDEN DAWN:
An Incident at Owl Creek Bridge. U.S. Get Hip Recordings. 180 gram virgin vinyl audiophile edition. The Creatures of the Golden Dawn, have spent the last dozen or so years digesting such mid-’60s garage-rock legends as the Seeds, the Elevators, the Watchband and other more obscure garage combos of the era. After albums on Dionysus and Collectables in the ’90s the band went on hiatus. This fantastic new album marks their return, more energetic and rocking than ever. It features a mix of covers (including tunes by Love, the Lyres and the Red Crayola) and originals that’ll put a smile on your face! A must for fans of the Cynics, Lyres, Miracle Workers and energetic garage rock. $15

|
THE CYNICS:
Twelve Flights Up. U.S. Get Hip. Blending the hard-hitting garage of their debut 'Blue Train Station' with Byrds/Nightcrawlers infected folk-rock, the Cynics score big on this followup. In retrospect, you can see how their own style was slowly solidifying on this album on tracks like "Creepin’", "Yeah!" and "Useless". Cool covers too, "I Never Loved Her", "A Basket of Flowers", and "Gloria’s Dream". 12 tracks on color vinyl. $12

THE EARLY HOURS:
Evolution. Australia. Corduroy Records. THE EARLY HOURS formed in Western Australia in 1995 as a bunch of school kids without any intention of playing live. If you dig your pop raw, high energy, sweet & loud in the tradition of THE STEMS and DM3, there ain't nuthin’ better than the EARLY HOURS! $15

THE HEKAWIS:
Born Yesterday. Australia. Corduroy Records. Brisbane’s The Hekawis 'Born Yesterday' LP is an amalgam of the punk sneer and weird Brisbane accent of the Saints; the raving Australian 60's beat-punk style of the MISSING LINKS; with the cool pop sensibilities and song writing style of the SUNNYBOYS. " Born Yesterday" features moody ballads to amazingly cool original ravers and all with that special dash of Hekawis soul and that KILLER Farfisa organ sound. It has simply great song writing from bass player extraordinaire and Hekawis driving force, Jamie “Wild Eagle” Peirce, Stevie, and even a couple of numbers penned by Gavin ”The Sheik” Ross. This is the album we always knew the Hekawis had in them… Enjoy! $18

THE HIGHER STATE:
Darker By The Day. U.S.A. 13 O'Clock Records. Second full-length from this mind-blowing UK garage-folk-psych combo featuring former members of The Mystreated. "The Higher State are far more than a mere pudding bowl recreation, they're a valid voice for the new bohemia; time bandits who have shared coffee n smokes with Gene Clark and Roky! And let's cut the flowery superlatives (words on paper mean little when music is the topic) let me just say that The Higher State are the only current US 1960s styled garage band that you need to hear" -
Jon 'Mojo' Mills - Shindig Magazine

|
KINGS VERSES:
Kings Verses. U.S. Sundazed/Beat Rocket. 12 tracks on heavy duty high definition vinyl. The BeatRocket Fresno motherlode yields another world class nugget: the Kings Verses. A 1966 fuzz-drenched combination of early Arthur Lee & Love and the 13th Floor Elevators with Roky lost in a Jimson Weed haze, the Kings Verses would soon play LA's Griffith and Elysian Park Love-Ins, but these never issued recordings find them massively raw and alive, and maybe a little angry at being "stuck in Fresno again." $15
